Services
I help people, who are struggling with making progress in their life, to chart a course towards finding fulfillment.
You never thought you would be the person doing things to cope, that you could be considering asking for help. You felt that asking for help was for people who were weak, not tough, and people who were not well put together. Despite the different challenging circumstances in your life, you have always managed to patch things together; despite growing up in a household where relationships seemed to suffer, you always got your act together, and people always looked up to you to be there for them.
So, you told yourself you wouldn't be the person who asked for help, sat around and did not know what to do, and let anything overwhelm them. My clients want to make things work and progress in their relationships and jobs; they want to have happy families, be great workers, and make life connections together with successful lives. Many of my clients come to me because they fear they may no longer have the tools to sustain the life they have led, want to continue to lead, or know what direction the next step should be.
Most of my clients struggle with experiencing a lack of trust in their ability to move forward, to make the changes they may have wanted or which previously did not wear them down, or that they are just running out of fuel.
So, therapy may be for you if:
You are struggling to trust what you want to do.
You have doubts or are unsure but still know what you want to do.
You feel compelled to work harder than others.
You think you are running out of time, or you are losing your cool
You think you have worked out a complicated or unfavorable relationship
You experienced trauma as a child growing up.
You have thought you were the only one who could help everyone around you.
Struggling not to become what you have always fought against can be daunting and debilitating. My goal for my client is to help you work through things holding you back from being the person you want to be (and perhaps make sure that you are realistic about your ideal goals).
Therapy for people who feel stuck is not:
Me telling you that you have been doing it all wrong after hearing your story
Me telling you that there is a specific formula that you must follow.
That the answers will be easy to come by and that you should be back to being in charge again
That you will only need to listen to me, and I will give you the answers, and you can immediately be done.
What to expect
We'll meet for your initial intake session to understand your needs and see where and how I can help. Your first session will be 75 minutes to cover paperwork & get to sign releases/or housekeeping and get to know each other. This session will take a little longer to help me fully understand your needs and how I can help. Every session after that will be 50 minutes, and I recommend meeting once a week for the first four to six weeks to keep up the momentum we see in the session. Payment is collected at the beginning of your session using a Visa card.
